Contextual Help
Helpful information and technical notes about specific features appear throughout the
Population Analyst. Help text is displayed by clicking the “question mark”
button adjacent to the feature you’re curious about.
Example help:
Clicking a “question mark” button will display a yellow help box
like this. Click the button again if you want to conceal the help box. Unless
otherwise noted, each help box refers to the feature immediately above it.
CSS compatibility:
Your browser does not seem to support CSS (or it may be disabled). The
Population Analyst does not require CSS, but it does use Cascading Style Sheet
(CSS) technology to provide certain styling cues you may find helpful. Enabling
CSS or using a CSS-capable browser will allow contextual help to function
properly and will improve the general appearance of the site.
The Population Analyst was created during the spring 2005 semester by Jim
DeVona as an Honors Project in Geography: Computer Applications in
Human-Environmental Analysis. It would not have been possible without the help of
Mark Reisinger, Kevin Heard, John Hagan, and Peter Herzfeld. Many thanks to the
GIS Campus Core Facility for hosting the final version.
